1111 Main is the tower long known as Town Pavilion, thirty eight stories and 802,071 square feet at the northeast corner of Twelfth and Main. It was completed in 1986 and is the second tallest building in Kansas City and the third tallest in Missouri. A sky bridge crosses Walnut Street to 1201 Walnut next door, so two towers' worth of floors connect without anyone going outside. The building sits in the Class A core on Main inside the Downtown Loop, a block from the Power and Light District and a short walk from the Crossroads.
On public record the building holds Bank Midwest, the FDIC and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. HNTB is moving its national headquarters here from 715 Kirk Drive in a phased relocation, with one floor completed in January 2026 and the remainder targeted for the middle of 2026. That mix of a national engineering headquarters, a bank and two regulatory bodies gives the tower a wider range of brand standards than most single industry buildings.
A tower in transition takes a little more confirming than a settled one. Floors are being fitted out, so we check the floor, the freight elevator and the dock hours with your office manager the week before rather than assuming last year's arrangement still holds. Names go to the security desk in advance.
