The Brief

A national firm that needed photography for two very different jobs.

RubinBrown is one of the country's larger accounting and advisory firms, a member of the global Baker Tilly International network, with its St. Louis office high in the Centene Building in Clayton. Their marketing team came to us with two separate needs that most photographers treat as one: polished individual headshots for a growing professional staff, and a library of workspace and culture imagery to power their recruiting and careers marketing.

The headshots had to stay consistent as the firm grew, so a new hire photographed this year sits cleanly next to a partner photographed last year. The culture work had a harder constraint. It needed to capture the feel of the office, the brand, and the values, while keeping team members unidentifiable in the frame, so the images could run anywhere, indefinitely, without a single consent headache.

How We Made It Work

One relationship, two consistent libraries.

Headshots that hold up over time

We have photographed RubinBrown staff across multiple rounds, using the same lighting, background, and crop each time. That consistency is the whole point of a firm-wide program. A directory or bio page reads as one organization, not a patchwork of whoever shot whom in which year. New rounds slot into the existing look without a reshoot of the whole team.

Culture shot to a brief, not by chance

The culture sessions ran to a shot list built with their marketing team: the entryway logo, the core-values wall, vision panels throughout the office, the board room, the lounge. A representative session was three hours on site and delivered 27 final images, with the proofing gallery in their hands the next day. The work documents the brand itself, not just the people in it.

People present, nobody identifiable

The firm wanted the office to feel alive without locking the images to specific employees who might leave. We staged and framed so team members read as energy and motion in the background, never as recognizable subjects. The result is a culture library RubinBrown can use for years, across any page, with no release to track down later.

Outcome

The photography went live across their careers and culture pages.

The culture library was produced to support a website refresh and now runs across RubinBrown's Careers & Culture pages, where it does the quiet work of showing recruits what the office actually feels like. The headshot program continues alongside it, round after round, keeping the firm's people looking like one team.

That is the value of an ongoing relationship over a one-off booking. The look is already set, the logistics are already known, and each new session adds to a library that stays coherent instead of starting over.
