Our Approach with Kids

Every session is built around your child's comfort, not ours.

Play-Based and Age-Appropriate

We do not force poses or expressions. For younger children, the session feels more like playtime than a photo shoot. We use games, conversation, and genuine interaction to draw out real smiles and natural expressions.

Parents Are Always Welcome

A parent or guardian is present for the entire session. You can watch every shot on our tethered monitor in real time. Your child feels safe, and you see exactly what we are capturing.

Your Child Sets the Pace

Need a snack break? Want to switch to a silly face for a minute? That is fine with us. We work at your child's speed, with breaks whenever they need them. No pressure, no stress.

Young Children (Ages 3-7)

Sessions are shorter and more playful. We keep energy high and expectations flexible. Some of our best shots happen between the "official" poses, when a child is just being themselves.

Tweens and Teens (Ages 8-17)

Older kids get gentle expression coaching, similar to what we do with adult clients but with a lighter, more encouraging approach. We help them feel confident in front of the camera, often for the first time.

Experience You Can Trust

We have photographed kids from age 3 to 17 for acting agencies, modeling portfolios, school directories, and family portraits. We know what works, and we know how to make it fun.

Who Books Children's Headshots?

Parents bring their kids to us for all kinds of reasons.

Child Actors and Models

Agencies need current headshots. We format for industry submission standards and know what casting directors look for in child performers.

School and Directory Photos

When the school photographer produces the same flat lighting for every student, you bring your child to us for something they will actually want on the wall.

Family Keepsakes

Capture this age while it lasts. Professional portraits of your children at 5, 10, 15 become the most treasured images you own.

Questions Parents Ask

What age do you photograph?
We photograph children from age 3 through 17. For very young children (3-5), sessions are shorter and more play-based. For tweens and teens, we coach expression and posing much like we would with an adult, just with a lighter, more encouraging approach.
How long is a children's session?
Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes, but we stay flexible. Younger children may need a shorter session with breaks, while teens often settle in and enjoy the full time. We never rush and we never force it.
Can I be in the room during the session?
Absolutely. A parent or guardian is welcome and encouraged to be present for the entire session. Many kids are more relaxed knowing mom or dad is right there. You can watch on the tethered monitor and see every shot in real time.
What should my child wear?
We recommend 2-3 outfit options in solid colors. Avoid large logos or busy patterns. Bring layers so we can mix and match. For child actors and models, a simple, clean look is best since agencies want to see your child, not their clothes. We send a detailed prep guide when you book.
What if my child won't cooperate?
It happens, and it is completely fine. We work with kids at their pace. If they need a break, we take a break. If they are having a shy day, we slow down and let them warm up. We have never had a session where we did not get great images. Sometimes the best shots come after the silliest moments.
Do you photograph siblings together?
Yes. We can photograph siblings individually and together in the same session. Just let us know when you book so we can plan enough time. Sibling sessions are some of our favorites.
The photos are beautiful, and it was so fun to meet at your studio to create them! We will enjoy sharing and cherishing these photos.
