Corporate photography in Overland Park and Johnson County
The Kansas side of the metro carries as much corporate office space as downtown does. We photograph on site in it, at Corporate Woods, at Aspiria, and out along College Boulevard.
Overland Park has functioned as a second downtown for Kansas City since the seventies. Corporate Woods opened in 1975 and now runs to twenty nine buildings and more than two million square feet, including the largest multi-tenant office building in the city at sixteen stories. A few minutes south, Aspiria occupies the campus Sprint built as its world headquarters: seventeen buildings and close to four million square feet across roughly two hundred acres, now rezoned as a mixed use district with T-Mobile counting it as a second headquarters. Black and Veatch runs its world headquarters on Lamar Avenue. Netsmart is headquartered here, Accenture has an office here, and the College Boulevard corridor carries the advisory and professional firms that serve all of it.
Johnson County is where the metro's corporate growth went, and the surrounding cities each have a character worth knowing. Leawood holds AMC Theatres' business headquarters and the Town Center Plaza district at 119th and Roe. Lenexa carries an unusual concentration of engineering and life sciences, with Kiewit, Henderson, Ceva Animal Health, Quest Diagnostics and Clinical Reference Laboratory among others. Olathe is Garmin's home, a campus of office buildings plus manufacturing and distribution with more than four thousand associates. That spread means a Johnson County program is often three or four addresses rather than one.
Where Overland Park and Johnson County works
Almost every session happens on site, in your own building. Knowing the room before I arrive is part of what keeps the day on schedule.
Corporate Woods
Twenty nine buildings and more than two million square feet, opened in 1975 and still the Kansas side's default corporate address. A sixteen story tower anchors it. Easy loading, structured parking, and conference rooms with better daylight than most downtown floors.
Aspiria, the former Sprint campus
Seventeen buildings on roughly two hundred acres, now a mixed use district with T-Mobile treating it as a second headquarters. The scale is genuinely unusual and the architecture rewards putting the building in the frame.
College Boulevard
The professional services spine, running east to State Line Road. Advisory firms, brokerages and the businesses that serve the headquarters around them.
Lamar Avenue
Black and Veatch's world headquarters. An engineering business that works in a hundred countries, which means project imagery matters as much as portraits do.
Leawood and Town Center
AMC Theatres' business headquarters and the Town Center Plaza district at 119th and Roe. Retail-adjacent corporate space, and the easiest part of the county to shoot outdoors.
Lenexa and Olathe
Engineering and life sciences out to the southwest, with Garmin's campus in Olathe. Laboratory and manufacturing environments in the same buildings as offices, which is useful when a film needs both.
What Overland Park and Johnson County is built on
The sectors that define this market, and what each one usually needs.
Engineering and architecture
Black and Veatch's world headquarters sits on Lamar Avenue, with Kiewit, Henderson, GBA and Performance Contracting concentrated in Lenexa. Together with Burns and McDonnell and HNTB on the Missouri side, this metro carries an unusual amount of the country's engineering capacity.
Employee-owner directories that stay consistent as firms grow, plus project and site photography that can carry a proposal.
Life sciences and animal health
Lenexa holds forty or more human and animal life sciences companies, including Ceva Animal Health's North American headquarters, Quest Diagnostics and Clinical Reference Laboratory, as part of the wider corridor running from Manhattan through the metro to St. Joseph.
Scientist and veterinarian portraits, laboratory and facility imagery, and recruiting material for a narrow shared talent pool.
Technology
T-Mobile at Aspiria, Netsmart headquartered in Overland Park, Garmin in Olathe and C2FO in Leawood give the Kansas side a genuine technology base rather than a back office one.
Engineer and leadership portraits, plus product and culture film for companies hiring against the coasts.
Financial services and insurance
Creative Planning is based in Overland Park and CommunityAmerica in Lenexa, with a deep advisory community along College Boulevard.
Large repeatable headshot programs with a look that survives a reorganization, and advisor portraits refreshed on a cycle.
Healthcare
HCA Midwest Health and the University of Kansas Health System both run major Johnson County operations alongside their Missouri-side facilities.
Physician directories at scale, photographed on site between clinics rather than in a studio nobody has time to visit.

Learn MoreWhy it matters in Overland Park and Johnson County
The state line runs through this metro more consequentially than through any comparable American city, and it cuts straight across the corporate map. A company with an office in downtown Kansas City and another in Overland Park has two offices in two states and, usually, two different sets of headshots. Photographing both sides in one visit is not a logistical nicety here. It is the only way the people page holds together.
Buildings we work in around Overland Park and Johnson County
Each has its own page: what the building is, who is there, and what a session in it involves.
Corporate Woods
110th Street at US 69 and Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS
Twenty nine buildings at 110th Street and US 69, and the address more Overland Park teams give than any other. If yours is one of them, this is how a session here runs.
Aspiria, the former Sprint campus
115th Street and Nall Avenue, Overland Park, KS
Seventeen buildings on two hundred acres at 115th and Nall, built as Sprint's world headquarters and now a mixed use district. A campus this size rewards putting the building in the frame.

What every session includes
The same standard in every city, because it is the same photographer in every city.
Direction people relax into
Most people dread being photographed. I demonstrate, they mirror, and the guarded expression is gone in about thirty seconds.
Real-time review
Every frame appears on a tethered monitor as we shoot, so nobody leaves the room wondering how it went.
One consistent standard
The same lighting and framing used in every other city you operate in, so the team page holds together.
Professional retouching
Every final image is edited personally. You look like yourself, on a good day.
Photography and video in one visit
Filmed in 4K, which means a production day hands back a still library as well as the film.
On site at your office
The full setup travels. A conference room or an open corner is enough, and your team never leaves the building.
Kansas City is one of the markets we work most. The advisory team at Merrill Lynch was photographed on site here, and a program that covers both sides of the state line in one visit is a normal booking rather than an exception.
Work photographed in Kansas City
The Merrill Lynch team here was photographed on site
Most of the Kansas City photography on this site is one program: the Merrill Lynch team, photographed at their offices rather than flown to a studio. Individual portraits and a group composite came out of the same visit, which is the usual shape of an on-site day.
A group composite matters more than it sounds. It means the team picture survives a hire or a departure without putting everyone back in front of a camera, and it is the reason these programs tend to hold their look for years instead of months.
